Welcome to the community. This guide walks you through everything you need in your first few minutes as a member: setting up your profile, joining the spaces you care about, publishing your first post, and getting help from the AI assistant. You can work through the steps in order, or jump straight to whatever you need.
1. Complete your profile
A complete profile helps other members recognise you and makes it easier to connect. Open your own profile, then select Edit profile to open your profile settings.
- Photo and display name — add an avatar and the name you want people to see.
- Headline and bio — a short line about who you are and what you're into.
- Location and links — add your city and social links (X, LinkedIn, GitHub, YouTube and more).
- Custom fields — some communities collect extra details, such as your role or interests.
Everything you add appears on your public profile alongside your join date, followers and any badges you earn.
2. Join spaces
Spaces are where community activity happens — discussions, courses, events and chat. Browse the Spaces directory to find ones that fit your interests, then open a space to join. Depending on how it's set up, you'll see one of these options:
- Request to join — send a request (you can add a short message and reason) and wait for an admin to approve it.
- Subscribe — join a paid membership tier for ongoing access.
- One-time purchase — buy lifetime access to a single space.
Open spaces let you join instantly. You can track any pending join requests later from your Member Center.
3. Make your first post
From your home feed or a space, select the composer (the “What's on your mind?” box) to open the post editor. Choose which space or feed to post in, write your message, and optionally add photos, a GIF, a poll or attachments. When you're ready, select Post. Prefer to publish later? You can also schedule a post for a future time.
4. Ask the AI assistant
The built-in AI assistant answers questions using your community's own content. Ask it something like “Where do beginners start?” and it replies with an answer plus links to the posts, courses or resources it drew from, so you can read the full source. It's the fastest way to find your footing without scrolling.
5. Find your Member Center
Your Member Center is your personal hub. It shows your profile summary, active memberships, any one-time purchases, badges and points you've earned, and the status of your join requests — all in one place.
