Besides the Feed Space timeline, Mateflow has three space types built for one kind of content. An Article Space is a blog for long-form writing, a Gallery Space is a grid of photos and videos, and a Radio Space is the space type for podcasts and audio shows. In older versions these were called Blog, Media, and Podcast spaces.
Who can do this: Community owners and admins create these spaces. Space admins change their layout and permissions. Members post according to each space's permissions. · Where: Create and configure on the web. Members read and post on the web and in the iOS and Android apps. · Plan: Radio Spaces depend on your platform plan, and so does the Blogs page in the admin console.

You choose the type when you create the space, and it can't be changed later. To create one, see Create a space.
Set up an Article Space (a blog)
In an Article Space, people who can post see a Share your story card with a Write Blog button instead of the usual quick composer. It opens the article editor (Write a Blog), where writers add a Title and Content, and optionally an Excerpt (Optional), Tags, and SEO Settings under Advanced Settings. They can Publish, Save draft, or Schedule publish….
Articles can only be published to an Article Space. For the full writing steps, see Write and publish an article.
The posting permission is called Who can publish articles, and replies are called comments (Who can comment, react and repost). Collections in an Article Space are called Series.
Set up a Gallery Space
A Gallery Space is for visual content such as portfolios, photo challenges, or video libraries. Every new post needs at least one photo or video. A music track can also count, but a voice message on its own can't. Without media, members see "Please upload at least one media file before posting." (in the app: "This gallery space requires a photo or video.").
Replies don't need media. The posting permission is called Who can upload media, and collections are called Albums.
Set up a Radio Space (podcasts)
A Radio Space is audio-first: each post is an episode. To publish, members click Add an audio and upload an MP3, WAV, or M4A file, then give it an episode title and a cover image. Without audio, they see "Please upload an audio file before posting." An audio file can't be combined with photos, videos, a GIF, or a poll in the same post.
The posting permission is called Who can publish episodes, and collections are called Series. Replies to an episode don't need audio.
If Radio Space shows Upgrade when you create a space ("Podcast spaces aren't included in your current plan"), your platform plan doesn't include it. See Check plan usage and limits.
Change the layout of an Article, Gallery, or Radio space
Space admins can change how posts are displayed:
- Open the space's Manage panel: click the gear icon (Manage) on the space's page, or open the space's ⋯ menu in the sidebar and click Manage space.
- Click Layout & display.
- Under Content Layout, choose Feed (Timeline), Stacked (Cards), Grid (Masonry), Compact List, or Gallery Board.
- Optionally set the Default reply view to Flat or Threaded. Members can still switch it on each post.
- Click Save Changes.
Feed Spaces have the same options. Q&A and Chat Spaces don't have Layout & display.
Control who can post in these spaces
Each type uses its own permission names under Access Policy → Advanced. For example, set Who can publish articles to Admins and moderators to run a team blog that members can read and comment on. See Control who can post, reply, and react in a space.
