A Post space is the default home for a MateFlow community: a scrolling timeline where members share text, images, polls, and links. But not every kind of content belongs in a feed. When you want a photo gallery, an audio show, or long-form articles, MateFlow gives you three purpose-built space types that reshape both how members post and how the content is displayed.
The three content space types
Media space
A Media space presents its content as a visual grid of photos and videos rather than a vertical timeline. Media is required on every post, so the space stays clean and gallery-like. It is ideal for portfolios, moodboards, event photos, product shots, or any community that is driven by images and clips. When members post here, the composer is focused on media upload and hides the poll, GIF, and file tools you would see in a Post space.
Podcast space
A Podcast space turns each post into an audio episode. The composer swaps the usual media button for an audio uploader, so contributors publish recordings that members can play back in a stacked or grid episode list. Use it for interview shows, audio diaries, recorded AMAs, or a private podcast feed for your members. Podcast is a plan-gated feature, so if the type appears locked in the wizard, upgrading your plan unlocks it.
Blog space
A Blog space is built for long-form articles. Instead of the quick inline composer, it opens a dedicated rich-text editor with support for headings, formatting, and saved drafts, so writers can work on a piece over time before publishing. Articles render as cards or a stacked reading list. Choose it for newsletters, tutorials, release notes, or editorial content.
How the types compare
| Space type | Primary content | Layout |
|---|---|---|
| Post | Text, media, polls, links | Timeline feed |
| Media | Photos and videos (required) | Gallery grid |
| Podcast | Audio episodes | Episode list / grid |
| Blog | Long-form articles + drafts | Article cards / reading list |
How to create one
- Open the New Space creation wizard from your community.
- Step 1 โ Choose a type: pick Media, Podcast, or Blog from the list of space types. Each card explains what it is best for.
- Step 2 โ Privacy: decide whether the space is open, private, or paid.
- Step 3 โ Details: add a name, description, and cover, then create the space.
Once created, the space automatically shows the right composer and layout for its type. You cannot change a space's type after creation, so pick the one that matches the content you plan to publish.
