MateFlow helps members find exactly what they are looking for and stumble onto what they did not know to search for. There are three complementary tools: Search for precise lookups, an Explore feed for browsing, and hashtag pages for following a topic.
Searching your community
Open Search and start typing; results update as you type. Your query lives in the URL, so results are easy to share and bookmark. Matches are organized into tabs so you can jump straight to the type of thing you want:
- Top — the best cross-type results for your query.
- Latest — the most recent matching posts.
- People — members whose name or username matches.
- Spaces — spaces you can join.
- Hashtags — matching topic tags.
- A More menu adds Media, Events, Courses, and Blogs.
Filtering and scoping results
- On the Latest tab, filter posts by type — Posts, Articles, Podcasts, or Videos.
- Search can be scoped to a single space. When a space scope is active a clear indicator shows which space you are searching in, with a one-tap option to clear it and search community-wide.
Before you type anything, the search screen surfaces your recent searches, the community's trending searches from the last 24 hours, and trending hashtags so you can jump in with one tap.
Exploring and trending
The Explore page is built for browsing rather than searching. It is organized into tabs:
| Tab | What you will find |
|---|---|
| Posts | Popular and noteworthy posts across the community |
| Hashtags | Trending topics to follow |
| Spaces | Active spaces worth joining |
| People | Members to follow (shown to signed-in members) |
Explore is a great starting point for new members who want to feel the pulse of the community before committing to a search term.
Hashtag pages
Every hashtag has its own page at /hashtag/<tag>. Tapping a hashtag anywhere — in a post, in search, or in the trending lists — opens a dedicated feed of posts using that tag, along with a sidebar of stats and related hashtags to branch into nearby topics. Hashtags turn free-form conversation into browsable topic hubs, and tags flagged as sensitive show a content warning before revealing their feed.
