Many communities reward you for taking part. As you post, comment and show up, you earn points, climb levels, and unlock badges that appear on your profile. This guide explains how each one works and where to track your progress. If your community hasn't turned on points, you simply won't see these sections — nothing to worry about.
How you earn points
Points are awarded automatically for community activity. The exact rules are set by your community, but typical actions include:
- Publishing a post
- Adding a comment
- Receiving a like or reaction on your content
- Logging in each day
- Redeeming a bonus code
Each action is worth a set number of points, and some have a daily cap so a single activity can't be repeated endlessly for points. To see the exact values for your community, open your Member Center and expand the Points rules panel. The Points history list right above it shows every recent activity and the points it earned.
Leveling up
Your points add up toward your level. At the top of your Member Center you'll see your current point total, a progress bar toward the next level, and how many points you still need to reach it. If leaderboards are enabled, you'll also see your global rank compared with other members.
Unlocking badges
Badges (also shown as medals) are milestones you unlock by meeting requirements. Depending on how your community configures them, requirements can include:

In the Achievements section of your Member Center, select any badge to see its requirements and a progress bar for each one you haven't met yet. Locked badges show a small lock icon; unlocked badges show the date you earned them.
Where your badges appear
Your unlocked badges form a badge wall on your public profile, and your current badge is highlighted next to your avatar. Other members can see them when they visit your profile, and you can review the full set — unlocked and still-locked — from your Member Center at any time.
