Every member helps keep the community safe. If you come across a post, comment, or profile that breaks the rules, you can report it for the moderation team to review. If you simply want a quieter experience, you can block or mute another member. This guide walks through each action and explains what happens next.
Report a post or comment
Reporting flags content for review without notifying the author.
- Open the More menu (the … icon) on any post, blog post, event, or comment.
- Choose Report post (the label changes to Report comment or Report blog depending on what you are viewing).
- Pick a reason from the list: Spam, Harassment, Hate speech, Violence, Nudity, Misinformation, Copyright, Impersonation, Illegal, Fraud, or Other.
- Add an optional note (up to 254 characters) to give moderators context, then select Submit.
You will see a confirmation once the report is sent. Reports go to the community's moderators and admins, who decide whether any action is needed. To avoid accidental duplicates, there is a short cooldown before you can report the same item again.
Report a member
If a whole profile is the problem, report the account directly:
- Go to the member's profile and open the More menu.
- Select Report account.
- Choose a reason and add optional details, then submit.
Block a member
Blocking is the strongest personal control. From a member's profile menu, choose Block and confirm. Blocking cuts the connection between the two of you, so their content and interactions no longer reach you. You can reverse this at any time by opening the same menu and choosing Unblock.
Mute a member
Muting is quieter than blocking. The other person is not notified and can still interact normally, but you stop seeing their activity surfaced to you. From the profile menu, choose Mute and confirm; choose Unmute to undo it.
Block vs. mute at a glance
| Action | They are notified | Effect | Reversible |
|---|---|---|---|
| Report | No | Sends content to moderators for review | N/A |
| Mute | No | Hides their activity from you; they can still interact | Yes |
| Block | No | Severs interaction between you both | Yes |
Manage who you have muted
You can review and lift mutes at any time. Go to Settings › Notifications › Muted, where mutes are grouped by users, posts, and spaces. Select Unmute next to any entry to restore its activity.
