Onboarding is where retention is won or lost โ most members who disappear do so in their first week. This is a full, phased onboarding flow, illustrated with a worked audience-growth community example. Keep the structure and swap the specifics for your own niche.
Phase 1 โ the first 5 minutes
Goal: reduce friction, create clarity, spark momentum.
Welcome screen
Warm, confident, creator-forward tone. A short welcome message, a single CTA (e.g. "Start Your Audience-Growth Journey"), and your brand visuals โ clean, thanks to white-label.
Orientation checklist
- Complete your profile
- Choose your primary platform (IG / TikTok / YouTube / LinkedIn)
- Download the Audience-Growth Roadmap
- Post your introduction
- Submit your first content idea
Each item should feel like a quick win.
Phase 2 โ the first 48 hours
Goal: get them creating immediately.
Niche & positioning mini-flow
A guided sequence in your "Start Here" space: What audience do you want to attract? What transformation do you help them achieve? What content formats do you prefer? What platforms do you want to grow on? This creates an Audience Profile the AI Copilot uses for personalized guidance.
"Your first 3 posts" templates
Give them 3 hook templates, 3 caption/story templates, and 3 call-to-action templates โ the goal is to get them posting within 48 hours.
Copilot introduction
Show them how to ask: "What should I post today?", "Help me write a hook for X.", "How do I grow on TikTok?"
Phase 3 โ the first 7 days
Goal: build consistency and belonging.
Daily growth prompts
Every day: a content prompt, a micro-challenge, a "wins" thread, and a platform-specific tip โ this builds the habit.
Platform mastery routing
Based on their Audience Profile, route them to Instagram / TikTok / YouTube / LinkedIn Growth. Each space has playbooks, swipe files, algorithm updates, and weekly challenges โ so onboarding is personalized.
First community event
Invite them to a live content review, a hook workshop, or a Q&A. Live interaction drives retention.
Phase 4 โ the first 30 days
Goal: deliver a transformation and activate long-term retention.
Audience-growth sprint
A 30-day challenge: 20 posts, 4 experiments, 1 collaboration, 1 platform deep dive โ creating measurable progress.
Course activation
Enroll them in your curriculum (Foundations โ Content Systems โ Platform Mastery โ Growth Loops โ Scaling), each module with lessons, worksheets, action steps, and discussion threads.
Growth pod invitation (paid)
Once they show consistency, invite them to small accountability groups with weekly pod calls, shared calendars, and private chat โ your premium upsell.
Phase 5 โ long-term retention
Goal: make them feel part of an ecosystem.
- Creator Showcase โ monthly: highlight top posts, share growth wins, celebrate milestones.
- Creator Lounge โ a social space for networking, collabs, and off-topic chat.
- Quarterly Graduation โ celebrate members who completed the sprint, hit milestones, and published consistently.
