MateFlow lets you tailor how the interface looks and reads for you personally. In your account settings, the Appearance section controls two things: the theme (light or dark) and the display language. Both are per-account preferences — changing them affects only your own view, not what other members see.
Choose a theme
Open Appearance in your settings and pick one of three theme options:
- Light — a bright interface, best in well-lit surroundings.
- Dark — a darker palette that's easier on the eyes in low light and can reduce glare.
- System — MateFlow follows your device's own setting and switches automatically between light and dark as your operating system does (for example, on a day/night schedule).
Your choice applies immediately and is remembered the next time you sign in. If you're not sure which to use, System is a good default because it keeps MateFlow consistent with the rest of your device.
Choose your display language
The Display language control lets you pick the language MateFlow's interface is shown in. Open the dropdown to see the supported languages, each listed by its own native name so it's easy to recognise.
When you select a language:
- The interface updates right away to your chosen language.
- Your choice is saved as an explicit personal preference, so MateFlow keeps using it on your next visit rather than guessing from your browser or the community's default.
Interface language vs. content
The display language changes MateFlow's own labels, menus, and buttons. It does not translate posts, comments, or other content that members write — those stay in whatever language they were written in.
A note on system theme and comfort
Because the System theme mirrors your device, the most reliable way to match your accessibility preferences is to set them at the operating-system level and let MateFlow follow along. Switching to Dark can also help if you're sensitive to bright screens.
