The Members area is your command centre for everyone in the community. From one screen you can find any member, change their role, group them with tags and tiers, and take moderation action โ individually or in bulk. This guide covers the whole workflow.
Finding people in the member list
The member list is a sortable table with a stats bar across the top showing total members, active today, new in the last 7 days, and pending invites. To narrow it down:
- Search by name or username.
- Filter by role โ all, admin, moderator, or member.
- Filter by join date using the date-range picker, or by last active to find dormant members.
- Filter by verified status.
- Switch the view tabs โ All, Active, Suspended, or Banned โ each showing a live count.
Frequently used filter combinations can be saved as segments so you can jump back to, say, "paid members inactive for 30 days" in one click.
Assigning roles
Open a member and choose Update role to set one of three levels:
- Admin โ full access to all community settings.
- Moderator โ can manage content and reports.
- Member โ the default community role.
The community owner carries an Owner badge and cannot be demoted. For the full permission breakdown, see member roles and permissions.
Organizing with tiers and tags
Tiers group members by membership level โ you can create tiers, see their distribution, and assign members to them, which is the backbone of paid access. Tags are free-form labels (colour-coded) you create in the tag manager and apply to any member for segmentation, campaigns, or internal notes. A member's tiers and tags both live on their detail page.
Moderating individual members
The moderation section on a member's detail page (available to super-admins) gives you two escalating actions:
| Action | Effect | Reversible? |
|---|---|---|
| Suspend | Blocks access for a set number of days (default 7). The member can't access the community until the suspension ends or you unsuspend them. | Yes โ Unsuspend |
| Ban | Removes the member's access to the community. | Yes โ Unban |
Both actions let you record a reason for the audit log. A suspended or banned member appears under the matching view tab so you can review them later.
Bulk actions
Select multiple rows with their checkboxes and you can bulk suspend, bulk ban, or bulk export the selected members to CSV. Members can also be brought in through the import tool and invited by email from the invite dialog, with pending invitations and join requests tracked in their own tables.
Next steps
- Understand each role's exact reach in member roles and permissions.
- Set consistent moderation standards with moderation and community safety.
