Weekly digest, clearer sign-in, stricter permissions

A weekly email your community can send, sign-in messages that say what actually happened to an account, permissions granted only by the server, Latest / Hot in spaces, and three new API scopes.

A weekly digest for your community

Your community can now send a weekly email of what it missed. You choose the audience, the day, the hour and the time zone, how quiet a member has to be before it reaches them, and which blocks it contains — then preview it and send yourself a test. When the system pauses someone’s digest, it says so.

Sign-in that explains itself

A suspension, an account its owner deactivated, and a permanent ban used to produce the same sentence. A suspension now shows the date it ends, in your own time zone, and a deactivated account is told the thing that actually helps: sign in with your email and password and it comes back. The same holds through single sign-on, Apple and the mobile app.

Permissions now ask the server

Permissions across spaces and the admin console are granted only when the server grants them, not inferred from the role a browser remembered. Archiving a space no longer hides the management panel from its own admins, where restore and delete live, and one refused request no longer blanks the console along with the form you were filling in. Moderators without the member-read permission can no longer open the member list.

Sorting and counting in spaces

Space post lists have a Latest / Hot switch, on the web and in every mobile layout, and the list view shows reactions, attachments and replies on each row. “N new posts” now counts only posts you have not seen, and no longer leaves Discover stuck on Latest.

Keys and webhooks

API keys gain three read scopes — media, spaces and members — with member lookups grouped as sensitive, since they can confirm whether an address belongs to someone. * now means the four scopes it covered when the key was issued, not everything added later. Webhook deliveries show the event id and when it occurred.

Also in this release

  • A suspended community explains itself instead of failing, and returns on its own when the suspension ends.
  • Videos in the feed no longer download before anyone presses play, and replying from a chat, blog or event space works again.
  • The French sign-in page shows its legal notice in French, and missing strings were filled in across seven languages.
