One name for it, in every language
The thing that decides who can open which spaces and courses is an access group, wherever it appears. The word used until now also meant a community level, or your own Mateflow plan, depending on the language. Members never meet the term — they see the name you gave the group.
A member can be in several
Assigning a group adds it; the groups someone already holds stay. The member area, on the web and on the phone, lists them all: the one you granted by hand, the one that arrived with an invitation, and the one that came with a subscription.
What a group unlocks
A group can be attached to a space from the group itself or from that space’s own access settings. Both are counted now, courses are counted separately, and member numbers are taken live.
Setting one up
A new group arrives with a colour and an icon no other group is using. Ordering them works on a touchscreen, and the space picker searches every space on the site.
Where groups appear
An access group badge carries the group’s own icon and the colour you chose, so it no longer reads as one more coloured pill next to a member tag. A space paywall picks the groups that unlock it from a list with names and prices, instead of asking for IDs.
Also in this release
- A Community access (paid signup) plan no longer grants an access group. The field is gone from that form; grant groups through a Member upgrade plan.
- Assigning a group someone already holds re-applies what it unlocks, and the button says so.
- A member’s groups are a summary on their profile, with changes and the full history one click away.
